Prior to recently assuming a position in Vietnam, Chris spent nine years in Shenzhen, China teaching at the HSBC Business School of Peking University Graduate School, and he was witness to the massive growth and technological change that was — and still can be — seen in China today.
Chris is the author of Sovereign Wealth Funds: The New Intersection of Money and Power, is a Bloomberg contributor, and is a sought-after financial and economic commentator regarding China.
While respectful, Chris tells it like it is, offering a balanced, nuanced view of the opportunities and risks of investing in the fastest-growing economy in the world. He pulls no punches, stating that interpreting Chinese financial data is akin to playing detective. Things aren’t always as they seem, so he cautions would-be China investors to do more than just look at raw data.
